Enrolment

If you are living within the school zone please contact staff in the office to place your child on the pre-enrolment register. Feel free to pop in, send an email to reception@waterlea.school.nz or phone us on 09 636 4233. At this time you need to provide us with documentation that proves your address.

If you rent your home, we require either a power bill or tenancy agreement.

If you own your home, we require a rates bill, power bill, water bill or sale and purchase agreement.

Please also let us know:

• Child’s name
• Child’s gender
• Child’s date of birth
• Child’s main residential address
• Child’s Early Childhood Centre
• Parent/Caregiver name
• Parent/caregiver phone number
• Parent/caregiver email address

It is never too early to get in touch with us so please pre-enrol as soon as possible.

Please note: We are not taking any out of zone enrolments

When your child is nearly 5 we will contact you with further information about the enrolment process and transition to school. There will be forms to fill in and you will need to provide your child’s birth certificate/passport and immunisation record.

Please note Waterlea now operates a cohort entry process for new entrants, which means that rather than children starting school the day they turn five, they now start in groups (at the start and middle of each term), once they have turned five.

Each cohort will have three to four school visits, typically on a Thursday or Friday, prior to starting school.

Term 1: 11 March

Term 2: 29 April , 4 June (Tuesday)

Term 3: 22 July, 26 August

Term 4: 14 October, 18 November
